Upon opening the casket he meets Yuichi Yamamoto, also known as Reid Marion, and they open the envelope that was meant to be put into the casket.

Yamamoto and The Detective comply with the mysterious invitation and make their way to London for a conference in which they don’t know anything about. The Detective accepted mainly because there was money involved and it’s not in his nature to ask questions.
